Receive Instant Mobile and Desktop Notifications
Click on the Integrations page within your setting; this is where you can integrate Slack and send MakerOS notifications to a channel of your choosing. This is extremely useful if you and your team want to be instantly notified of the following actions taken on your account:
- User creations
- User logins
- New projects
- New file uploads
- New invoices and quotes
- When a customer views a specific invoice
- When an invoice is paid
- When someone posts a new message or begins typing
Receiving instant notifications to your Slack channel will allow you and your team to react much quicker to actions that may need to be taken within a project. It will give you and your team a heightened sense of awareness for what is happening within your business.
How to Setup the Slack Webhook and Channel
To set up the Slack integration, you will need a special link for MakerOS to send the notifications to. That special link is called a "webhook". When you are logged into your Slack account, you can create a new Webhook here.
Create or pick a channel that you would like your MakerOS notifications to be posted into, then select that channel from the drop-down menu on the Slack Incoming Webhooks page and click "Add Incoming Webhooks Integration". This will provide you with a Webhook URL which you can copy and paste into your MakerOS Integrations page.
The last step is to copy and paste the Webhook URL into the MakerOS integrations page. Once you click save, try creating a new project and posting a few files and messages. You should start seeing the MakerOS notifications popping up in the specified Slack channel.
